One Good Year

Can One Intentional Year Change Everything?

Recently, I asked myself a hard question:

What if, instead of avoiding the discomfort and unhappiness I’m feeling right now, I ran straight toward it?

What if this transition—this uneasy, uncertain stretch of midlife—wasn’t a crisis to survive… but a turning point to fully embrace?

What if I gave myself one fierce, focused year—not just to fix things, but to redesign my life completely?

That’s how the idea for One Good Year was born.

A year felt right.

Short enough to stay energized.

Long enough to make real, lasting change.

As I began mapping it out, I realized this wasn’t just my intuition—history and science agree. Ancient cultures embraced the power of a defined year: Jewish sabbaticals like the Shmita invited deep rest and renewal. Indigenous tribes used guided vision quests to mark transitions with clarity and purpose. Modern psychology shows that midlife offers a unique window of opportunity—our brains remain adaptable, our values sharpen, and our drive to live authentically intensifies.

So, I’m stepping into this year as an experiment—and a declaration.

Why I’m Doing This

I’m ready.

Ready to stop spinning.

Ready to stop tolerating a life that feels out of sync.

Ready to stop waiting for conditions to be perfect.

I want to use everything I’ve learned so far—my experience, my mistakes, my wisdom—and apply it with intention toward what’s next. Not just for me, but for the people I serve and the legacy I want to leave.

One Good Year is my commitment to show up fully, even when it’s messy. It’s a structure, a container, and a compass to guide a reinvention that is both personal and purposeful.

Everyone Deserves One Good Year

Midlife is complicated.

We carry more wisdom, but also more weight.

Career changes. Health shifts. Family pressures. A deeper hunger for meaning and impact.

And most of us feel like we’re supposed to push through it—quietly.

But I believe you deserve one good year, too.

A year to pause and pivot.

A year to ask better questions.

A year to find your rhythm again—and maybe a new path entirely.

What I Hope to Gain

I’m not expecting magic. But I am expecting momentum.

Here’s what I’m looking to create over the next 12 months:

  • Career Alignment – Work that feels meaningful, clear, and energizing.

  • Increased Fulfillment – Daily rhythms that reflect my values and bring joy.

  • Financial & Personal Growth – Systems and structures that support both stability and freedom.

This year is about depth over speed. Focus over hustle—alignment over achievement for its own sake.

Why One Year Works So Well

Twelve months is a powerful window.

It’s long enough to build new habits, test new ideas, and make changes that stick.

It’s short enough to keep your energy high and your focus clear.

Research backs this up. Habit formation, identity shifts, and even neuroplasticity—your brain’s ability to change—respond to consistent effort over time. Especially when that time is framed with a clear purpose.

That’s what this year will be: a cycle of clarity, intention, and action: a reset and a relaunch.

Start Your One Good Year—Now

If you’ve been feeling stuck, off-course, or like you’ve outgrown the life you built—this might be your moment, too.

Don’t wait for permission.

Don’t wait until everything calms down.

Don’t wait until you have it all figured out.

Draw a line in the sand.

Shift from surviving to designing.

Turn this moment into your midlife awakening.

Declare your own One Good Year.

Build a simple plan. I’ll share the tools I used to build mine with you if you’d like.

Take the next right step.

Show up—even when it’s imperfect.

Because one year from now, you could be standing inside a life you love—one you shaped with clarity, courage, and intention.

So… what could your One Good Year look like?

If you're on a similar path—or want to be—I’d love to hear your story. Let’s walk this out together.

Here’s to bold beginnings.

Here’s to your breakthrough year.

Here’s to One Good Year.
